We're back, baby!

Hello wonderful people!

It's been a minute since we last updated, and we have a big update for you today. There is some good, great, and not-so-great news, so buckle up!

First, SJ went to visit Emi in Australia! It was amazing and seriously had SJ contemplating how many organs she might have to sell to move there. 😂😂😂

COMIC PRODUCTION UPDATE

The last time that we spoke to y'all, it was an update about comic production. That's the really not-so-great news: they still haven't put us into production. We haven't heard ANYTHING from them. We're going to give them until the end of July and then reach out. If their answer isn't satisfactory, we might have to cancel that order and find another printer. "But SJ, can't you just use the previous printer?" Well...they're based in Houston, Texas, and currently, that city is mostly underwater without electricity due to Hurricane Beryl. We would have to find a third printer.

We're holding out hope, because the last time we checked on our order, there was a banner across the website that said they were behind, and that banner is no longer there. Again, we're going to see what happens at the end of this month (so in two weeks), and then make a decision.

That was the worst of the news though! Let's move on to more fun stuff.

We recently had a meeting, and we ironed out a few things, specifically Menagerie and TCC.

MENAGERIE UPDATE

We are going to be starting our reboot of Menagerie! We have decided to write in an arc-style for storytelling. This means that each arc will be a standalone story but all stories will be tied together in some way. This will allow us to showcase characters that we couldn't really showcase in the previous version. We also realized that our original version got a bit darker than we intended, and this version is helping us get back to how we initially imagined it would have gone.

We don't want to give too much away, but keep your eyes peeled for snippets of things.

TCC UPDATE

TCC is getting a collected edition! We have a lot of work to do in order to prepare for this, but we're excited to get it into a larger volume. In traditional comics, collected editions are called trade paperbacks, and usually contain the first 4-6 issues of a comic's run.

What does this mean for TCC? Well, you all know that we've just finished issue 4, bringing our total to 5 issues (0, 1, 2, 3, and 4). This means that there will be a pause in TCC single issues while we work on this larger project, hence why we are working on Menagerie also - to bring you exclusive content before everyone else. We will, of course, be keeping you all informed as the process goes on.

With this larger collection, we're also going to be providing a prologue that is not in the single issues - we have the space (pun intended!!!) so why not go for it?

We're super excited for this coming year, but also cautious because we know how the year tends to treat us. We're asking the universe to give us a break, lol.
